Salvador and team were AMAZING. There’s a reason Green Smart only has five star reviews. My side yard is so infested with invasive bamboo that, when I bought my house, I didn’t realize there was a shed somewhere in the bamboo forest. I cleaned it back, but realized I was overmatched against its continuing encroachment. Salvador came by for a quote on another project, but asked me about the bamboo and I humored him when I said “Sure, you can give me a quote for a treatment, replacing the tarp (that’s keeping sun off the shoots), and digging a bamboo trench.” Based on the exorbitant quotes I received from others, I figured it couldn’t hurt. Salvador’s quote came in way less, and I booked him to try to help me with the bamboo problem.
Salvador and his team assisted me with a clean up of my front and back yard mulch beds. They pulled all the weeds, cleared all the we built up sticks, dirt and other debris, edged the beds, trimmed the plants and shrubs then laid fresh mulch. Unfortunately I didn’t take any before photos but the difference is huge! Would highly recommend them for any landscaping projects.
The owner of this company, Salvador, is really wonderful. He always accommodates my yard cleanups when I need them, and does it at a reasonable rate, which I really appreciate.
It was a pleasure meeting Salvadore, the owner of Green Smart. He installed a French drain in my back yard to prevent water from gathering around the house and cascading down the basement steps when it rains. He always let me know when he planned on arriving and if he was going to be just ten minutes late, he would text or call and let me know. He was meticulous in his work, making sure everything was done correctly and on schedule. He has a great personality and very easy to talk to. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone who needs a great company and person to handle their landscaping needs.
Salvador and his crew did a great job with our property in DC! We had terrible weed overgrowth around our entire property, and we needed a total landscaping refresh. Salvador did a thorough walkthrough of the job site with us, quickly provided a detailed quote, and had the work done within a matter of days. The crew was prompt, thorough, and left our home looking great! We will use Green Smart for all of our future landscaping projects and unconditionally recommend them.
Salvador and team did a terrific job sprucing up our back patio with new plants and landscaping. After seeing the results, we asked him to redo our front garden. He brought a beautiful Japanese maple, redesigned the rock landscaping and generally made the space look terrific. I’m very happy with the results!
The front and back areas of our house had been a mess since we moved in, and Salvador and his team did a fantastic job cleaning them up. Salvador was super friendly, responsive, and prompt. I especially appreciated his recommendations on things like trimming a tree away from the property and some wires, and his solutions for containing mulch in a couple areas. I will absolutely be reaching out to Green Smart again if ever I need more work done.
Salvador has been really great to work with! We had somewhat of a vision for what we wanted in our backyard and he was able to help us come up with ideas and really bring the whole thing to life! The whole process was quick and done in only a couple of days. Loved working with Salvador. He was responsive, provided recommendations and considerations and the job was done on time and at the highest quality. The team removed our grass, seeded for an all clover lawn and handled spring cleaning (mulching, etc). Would highly recommend! Clover is still growing – so pictures forthcoming!

Green Smart, LLC is one of the best landscaping and lawncare companies in the entire Washington, DC area. Much of Washington, DC was built in swamp and marshland, and huge weeds and invasive plants are everywhere in Southeast DC. Mr. Salvador Contreras and his crew did a great job of clearing large and aggressive weeds from the front and rear yards of my Southeast Washington townhouse. Mr. Contreras and his crew work quickly but take care to get the entire job done and at a reasonable price. The third time I contacted Green Smart, LLC, Mr. Contreras agreed to perform the weed-clearing service with only 24 hours notice – Green Smart, LLC is a real lifesaver!

Salvador was very responsive even as we were just discussing the project and what we wanted to get done. He understood exactly what we wanted and knew how to get it done. Once we decided on the scope of work, he was very accommodating and was able to do the work the next day. Him and his coworker were able to get it done quickly and without any problems. Salvador is a knowledgable, dependable, and responsive business owner. I hired him to establish plants and a tree for smallish planting areas in my front and back areas in Capitol Hill. I provided him with a plan and he met with me to see the areas, ask questions, and make suggestions. He secured the plants and proposed alternatives where appropriate. He was attentive to what I wanted and was a pleasure to work with. On planting day, he arrived on time with two nice guys who did the plantings. It was a pleasure recently to meet and work with Salvador (AKA Green Smart) to plan the installation of more than 40 trees (which will grow together into a privacy fence). His price was right (among two similar bids out of four), and his explanation of his plan of action was clearest. The job required the removal of tree stumps and other work to prepare the site before and after tree installation. Everything went according to plan. Once winter is over, we will be asking Salvador to help us with some other landscaping projects.

My husband and I were looking for a landscaping company. We were lucky enough to come across Green Smart. Salvador came by looked at our yard, took measurements and a couple of days later, responded with a reasonable estimate. Now let me say, our yard looked like an abandoned Amazon Forest. Salvador removed at least 14 huge bushes, replanted two others. Replanted some plants. Cleaned up the yard. (Which was a mess). Trimmed the remaining bushes. Soiled and mulched five huge flower beds. Ordered and created stone walls around the beds. And repaired the lattice around our deck and replaced a couple of boards on our deck. Salvador and his crew were amazing. And they finished the job in three days. Always on time, always polite, always professional. If I could I would give tens. Truly a Godsend.

We were thrilled with the responsiveness and work by Green Smart on our yard in Brookland. Salvador came out quickly for a consultation, gave us ideas and helpfully incorporated our feedback. If you’re seeking top-notch landscaping services in the DC area, look no further than Green Smart. My front yard in NE DC was in dire need of attention, overrun with crab grass, weeds, and uneven ground. However, Green Smart completely transformed it within a single day! Salvador and his team removed all the overgrowth, leveled the yard, and installed new sod. Additionally, they added steel edging for two garden beds, mulched, planted 10 evergreen shrubs, a Crape Myrtle tree, and four arborvitae trees. Salvador’s passion for landscaping and professionalism were evident throughout the process. He was responsive, attentive, and listened to all my wishes. They exceeded my expectations, and I cannot recommend Green Smart enough.
